Eclipse
Water · Memory · Consciousness
In ECLIPSE, texture becomes a language of memory. Rising from a deep field of layered blues, sculptural forms ascend toward a vast ochre surface above — creating a composition that feels at once geological, anatomical, and atmospheric.
The heavily textured lower half evokes coral formations, neural pathways, melting glaciers, or the internal architecture of the body itself. Fluid yet solidified, the surface carries a sense of suspended movement, as though emotion, thought, and matter are continuously shifting beneath the visible world. In contrast, the expansive ochre plane above introduces stillness — a quiet psychological space hovering over the turbulence below.
Drawing from the ancient association between water and the phlegmatic temperament, ECLIPSE explores the subconscious mind: the hidden systems, memories, and emotional currents that shape us long before they reach language.
With its elongated vertical form and immersive material depth, the work functions both as a contemplative abstract painting and as an architectural object — transforming space through texture, shadow, and atmosphere.
"The body remembers long before the mind understands."
